Signal Sight-line Clearance

Eden Lea Rail vegetation management teams worked to clear the sight-lines for the upgraded Signals as part of the Derby Station and Midland Mainline upgrade. The Derby Station project totalled over £200 million worth of investment to reconfigure both track and signalling in the Derby Station area.

Eden Lea Rail teams and our Forst Chippers worked alongside a number of contractors during the upgrades of the signalling equipment to clear the sites and manage the vegetation

Ecology Project

Eden Lea Rail site clearance teams joined ecologists to deliver a 30 acre clearance on behalf of a national development company.

The clearance involved the careful relocation of a number of species including Great Crested Newts, Adders, Slow Worms and Common Lizards.

Using large scale, specialist ground clearance equipment, the Eden Lea Rail team completed the relocation and scrub & vegetation clearance on time and within budget.

Regional Spraying Project

Eden Lea Rail specialist weed control teams worked lineside throughout South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire identifying and spraying a range of invasive weed species such as Japanese Knotweed, Himalayan Balsam, Horsetail and Ragwort.

This bi annual programmed maintenance works assures the control of dangerous weed growth along the rail infrastructure and is incredibly important to the maintenance and safe running of our rail lines.

Development Site Clearance Project

Eden Lea Rail teams worked with a private land owner to clear a development site and complete a full survey and maintenance works of established trees on the site.

This was a 22 acre site which involved thorough maintenance works to ensure that the established trees on the site were restored to safe and healthy condition; removing any dead and dangerous branches and felling the poorer quality trees, allowing the specimen trees more room to flourish.
